Seeking a national standard for hull cleaning

Mediterranean Fanworm on a boat in Picton

With a range of rules and regulations in place in relation to hull cleaning and preventing the spread of marine pests, NZMOA is seeking a national standard for hull cleaning that marinas can enforce.

A contingent from NZMOA attended a meeting at MPI on 18 March. This was an opportunity to develop a closer relationship with MPI staff and we'll be following up to help ensure that standard is effective and achievable.

We’ll keep you posted.
